Villa Fedora – Baveno (VB) – Italy

Villa Fedora in Baveno is a public park.The villa built in the middle of the last century, is located just beyond the Selvaspessa Stream immersed in the rich vegetation of the Municipal Park and overlooking the lake. The structure has two projecting side wings on the façade which, continuing on the back, form a small courtyard. The central body has three floors with two loggias in Doric style, surmounted by grotesque metopes on a blue background. The "umbrella" vault Villa Branca This H-shaped building connects to another structure through a sort of barchessa. The whole ensemble has been renovated in recent times by the Chamber of Commerce which is the owner. It is here that between 1904 and 1924 the well-known composer Umberto Giordano, master of our Verismo and author, among other works, of Fedora (1898) and Siberia (1903), stayed.
